Kevin Owens turned face before Extreme Rules 2019 show when he cut a pipebomb promo on Shane McMahon. Their altercation continued in the last couple of weeks with Shane trying to put KO against different opponents and KO trying to stun Shane as many times as possible.
Yesterday, KO put a selfie video over social media where he challenged Shane for a match at SummerSlam 2019 show. Not only that, he even said that he would quit WWE if he loses to Shane.
Tonight’s show started from the same point as Shane McMahon pointed out that KO also quit last year, only to come back in a couple of weeks. KO interrupted Shane and told the fans that he is a changed person now. And he definitely would not need to quit as he is sure that he will give a hell of a beating to Shane at SummerSlam.
Later in the show, Kevin Owens was put against Roman Reigns in the match. Shane McMahon, Drew McIntyre, and Elias took the position of the guest announcer, guest referee, and guest timekeeper, respectively, in an attempt to get some leash on both of them. However, that plan backfired as KO and Roman joined forces to take out the heel trio.
